About Caroline
Caroline is situated on 3,000 acres in Madison County. We presently have 800 families living in our community with the capacity for 3,000 families.
When you enter our community, you will soon come upon our beautiful 835 acre private lake which is our most notable and beautiful feature for our Caroline owners. Any of our owners who love to fish will have many opportunities to return home with bragging rights and naturally, fish stories to last generations. For the convenience of our boaters, there is a gas pump at the Bellevue Clubhouse. Our lake is professionally maintained and monitored and the current lake report can be found on the home page of our website in the Announcements section.
Caroline offers so much more than our most prominent feature, our beautiful lake. Residents are often noted as describing our neighborhood as a place that transforms. Caroline is a place that offers peace and tranquility after a long day on the job. Our quiet community witnesses the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets, bursting with colors that light the sky and provide many photo opportunities. The wide array of birds, those that live on the lake and the ones passing through, grant unique views of the scenery, including the American Bald Eagle that occasionally visits. Even now, we can see herds of deer roam through the grassy areas. And every now and then, a fox is witnessed.
From covered porches at our Bellevue and Martinique clubhouses our owners enjoy magnificent views of our lake. Both clubhouses include swimming pools and decks that overlook the water. Owners can access either clubhouse from the lake along with boat slip parking. The clubhouses serve as a gathering place for many neighborhood activities or for privately held gatherings including business meetings and private parties.
At the Bellevue clubhouse, there are lighted tennis courts and a children’s play gym area. There is a grass common ground area for flying kites, playing Frisbee, or running around with the kids or grandkids. Both clubhouses, the swimming pools, and the tennis courts are card-key accessible.
Annual neighborhood socials include:
New Year’s Party
Crawfish boil in May (this year we are adding an outdoor movie night)
4th of July Family Picnic and Firework Show
Arts & Craft Show in October
Halloween Party
Christmas Party
Other planned activities include Girls Nite Out, Ladies of the Lake, weekly Bridge games, and monthly Bunco. We now have an annual photo contest to allow everyone an opportunity to exhibit the many beautiful features of living at Caroline.
Caroline is located south of Highway 22, west of I-55, east of Hwy. 463 and north of Gluckstadt Road. Anyone traveling to our Caroline can gain access to our neighborhood from either of these main highways.
In the beginning…
The vision for Lake Caroline began in 1987 with Robert N. Stockett, Jr. As we unfold the story, you will learn who the previous landowners were that make up the area we know as Lake Caroline. The early days of Lake Caroline will include the construction of the lake and the dam along with photos. We will tell you which sections were in Phase I and Phase II. And, the story will be told of how this special place we call home became known as Lake Caroline.
