Fuel Pumps

Our fuel pumps will be upgraded internally to be Europay-Mastercard-Visa (EMV) compliant, which should make them operational, and hopefully avoid the frequent problems we have experienced in the past.

What does that mean for our members? You will be able to use your newer credit cards, the ones using “chip” technology. Using the old cards with a magnetic stripe makes it easy for someone to steal your credit card information. You may have heard of instances where someone will hide a credit card “skimmer” on a pump so that they can copy your info. The new EMV technology (“chip”) is intended to greatly increase the security of credit card transactions.

When is it happening? We ordered the parts, but we have not been given an ETA. We will update you as soon as we know more.

Spillway Overflow

Our maintenance team solved a problem with the system that we use to manage our water level in Lake Caroline. Recent winds apparently blew a flower pot into the opening of the relief pipe of the secondary spillway overflow that extends 10 feet into the fishing lake, a cove of Lake Caroline. Although the overflow relief valve was completely open, the flower pot had almost completely restricted the flow of water.

The flow of water is now at 100 percent at the Secondary Spillway Overflow.
