Financial Update

Elizabeth Alford, LCOA’s Controller, has accepted a career advancement opportunity, effective September 18. A valued and trusted member of our team, Elizabeth was instrumental in upgrading our accounting policies and procedures, strengthening our financial reporting system, and implementing additional internal controls, including separation of accounting duties. Because of her contributions, LCOA has a robust accounting system in place.
 
Going forward, the Finance Committee recommended, and the Board approved, that we contract with Carr, Riggs, and Ingram (CRI) for accounting services until such time as we hire a replacement to perform the Controller duties. CRI is familiar with our accounting policies and procedures; thus, the transition should be seamless. Residents should not notice any change in service. Financial oversight will continue to be provided by our Finance Committee, Board, and Executive Director.
