Management and Staff
LCOA has an experienced staff who manage the day-to-day operational details of the association. The team is led by our executive director, who reports to and works closely with the board of directors. LCOA has a staff of full-time employees and a roster of part-time, seasonal, and contract personnel to serve you. More info about the staff is found below.

Jeff Portwood - Executive Director 
 
Jeff is a Mississippi native. He grew up in Vicksburg and has a Masters from Mississippi State. Jeff lived and worked in Texas for a number of years and moved to Lake Caroline in 2022. He has many years of senior leadership experience including roles as Senior Vice President of Forestar (USA) Real Estate Group, Senior Operations Manager of Temple-Inland, and Owner/Principal Broker of lronGate Land Company. Jeff also managed a large homeowners association in Texas. 
 
Working under the direction of the board of directors, Jeff is responsible for overseeing business operations across all departments to fulfill the association’s mission and vision. He carries out board policies and plans and directs work to achieve strategic goals.  
 
Jeff and his wife Tracy live in The Shores. 
Liz Alford - Controller
 
A graduate of Millsaps, Liz has a Master of Accountancy and is a Certified Public Accountant. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA). In addition to working for the State of Mississippi, she has worked for Ernst & Young and Horne. Prior to joining our team, she most recently worked with Dickerson Petroleum.
 
Experienced in all aspects of financial management, Liz manages and provides oversight for the accounting functions on a day-to-day basis, including, but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliation, and general ledger accounting. She produces the financial reports necessary for an association of our size and complexity, as well as monitors our financial performance, and assists with long-range planning to facilitate our financial health. She works in concert with our executive director, board of directors, and finance committee.
 
Liz and her husband live in Camden Lake with their two small children.
Gene Gunalda - Project Manager
 
Gene, our Project Manager, has many responsibilities but his key responsibility is maintaining LCOA property, including the amenities, common areas and equipment, and managing projects related to these areas. He supervises the maintenance staff.  
Previously, Gene served as our Residential Property Manager. 
 
Danielle Hopson -Residential Property Manager
 
Danielle Hopson, our Residential Property Manager, oversees our property compliance program by inspecting LCOA properties weekly, recording violations of covenants, rules, and regulations, and working with property owners to resolve violations. She responds to residents' concerns about potential violations. Additionally, Danielle manages the boat registration and compliance program.

Two Administrative Assistants - Dawn Gray and one open position
Job Summary: Provide administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the office. They support managers, employees, and members through a variety of tasks related to organization and communication. 
 
Maintenance Supervisor  - Darrell Hopson
Two Maintenance and Project Assistants 
Job Summary: Perform work to maintain the facilities, equipment, and common areas in safe, operable condition. Regularly clean amenities.
 
Seasonal Pool Attendants
